“Dalagan Para sa Kabataan” set in GenSan to push child labor-free communities

Lace up and run for a cause! The Federation of Family Welfare Committee of SOCCSKSARGEN, Inc. (FFWCSI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 12, in partnership with Robinsons Land Corporation, invite the public to join the 2025 “Dalagan Para sa Kabataan: Run for a Cause” on November 22, 2025, at 4:00 a.m. at Robinsons Place General Santos City.

Organized in celebration of National Children’s Month 2025, the event aims to raise awareness about the prevention and elimination of child labor and to mobilize communities to build a child labor-free SOCCSKSARGEN.

The fun run also serves as a platform to strengthen partnerships among government, private sector, and civil society advocates working toward child welfare and protection.

Proceeds from the event will go to DOLE’s Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP), supporting projects such as Information and Service Caravans and Project Angel Tree, which provide essential services to identified child laborers and their families.

Runners may choose from various categories suited to their pace and preference: 3KM (includes race bib), 5KM (with race bib and medal), 10KM (with race bib and medal), and a special category for students.

Participants can look forward to exciting perks and rewards, including free singlets for the first 500 registrants, free post-run snacks, and surprise prizes and awards for top finishers and special categories.

Members of the Regional Council Against Child Labor (RCACL), various government agencies, local government units, private sector partners, and running communities are expected to participate.

Through this advocacy run, DOLE 12 and its partners aim to turn every stride into a step closer to ending child labor, one community, one child, and one run at a time.
