Over 115k vacancies await job seekers at Labor Day job fairs

More than 115,000 employment opportunities are set to open for job seekers as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) rolls out nationwide job fairs in celebration of Labor Day on 01 May 2026. The initiative aims to make job and income-generating opportunities more accessible, especially for individuals who remain unemployed.

As of 23 April 2026, the DOLE regional offices have identified 88 job fair sites, with the majority strategically located in malls to ensure convenience, accessibility, and wider public reach.

A total of 1,280 local employers are set to participate in the simultaneous job fair activities, offering 115,358 job vacancies across various industries. The figures are preliminary and are expected to increase in the coming days.

The top vacancies are in the wholesale and retail, manufacturing, construction, business process outsourcing, and accommodation and food service sectors. Among the in-demand positions are stock clerks and sales associates for retail operations; production operators and production workers for manufacturing; carpenters, foremen, and steelmen for construction; customer service representatives for the BPO industry; and service crew, line cooks, and baristas for the hospitality sector.

The initiative supports the thrust of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration on poverty alleviation by expanding employment opportunities and accelerating the reintegration of the remaining unemployed workforce into productive sectors.

Jobseekers are encouraged to visit any of the following designated venues in NCR and bring multiple copies of their application documents, including resumes and valid identification cards, to facilitate faster and more efficient processing:
