DHSUD, SHFC award over Php 21 million to ECMP community in Pasig

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), awarded two checks worth over Php21 million to the Centennial Sunrise Homeowners’ Association, Inc. in Pasig City—another key milestone under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), a housing initiative of SHFC under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa led the ceremony held in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on December 9. The issued checks cover the payment to the landowner, paving the way for the community’s transition to legitimate and secure land ownership.

In addition, SHFC turned over a grant covering the expenses for the processing of documentary stamp tax on mortgage. This is part of the transformative approach of the ECMP, which focuses not only on land acquisition but also on complementary benefits that uplift the lives of its beneficiaries.

“This is a meaningful Christmas gift from SHFC and DHSUD,” President Laxa said. “It symbolizes hope and a fresh start for families who have long aspired to have a safe and stable place to call home.”

Alongside the turnover of checks, Deputy Administrator Lee Robert Britanico of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) announced that qualified members of Centennial Sunrise HOA can avail of the Enhanced Lifeline Program (ELP)—a government-supported initiative that provides discounted water rates to eligible low-income consumers. The program follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed by SHFC and MWSS RO on December 5.

Centennial Sunrise HOA is composed of 175 members. It is one of the five ECMP communities that received their Certificates of Lot Award from President Marcos, DHSUD Sec. Jose Ramon Aliling, and SHFC President & CEO Laxa during the National Housing Expo on October 23 in Pasay City.
