MERALCO BAGS INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR ITS INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES
Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) took home five recognitions at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for its sustainability, thought leadership, and social media initiatives.
During the awarding ceremony held in Taguig City recently, the power distributor won three (3) Gold Stevie awards for the following initiatives: “Meralco Supplier Sustainability Scorecard (MS3) Program” under Building Sustainable Supply Chains category, “Redefining Meralco’s Facebook Page to Empower and Engage Customers” under the Most Innovative Facebook Page category, and Meralco Power Academy’s “Giga Summit on Sustainable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Future Grid” after it was named Thought Leadership Campaign of the Year.
Earning a Silver Stevie under the Reuse and Recycle category was the “Meralco Race to Zero Waste Program”. Rounding up Meralco’s haul is the Bronze Stevie for the Climate Hero of the Year category won by Meralco First Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Raymond B. Ravelo for his contributions in transforming the company into a recognized leader in sustainability.
Over 1,000 nominations from organizations, including utility companies, across the Asia-Pacific region were considered in this year’s Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, which recognizes innovation in the workplace in 29 markets of the Asia-Pacific region.
