DOLE, DZMM launch new radio program to expand info reach of programs, services

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) brings its programs and services closer to Filipino workers and employers, as it launched Aksyon DOLE sa DZMM on August 30, 2025. The initiative aligns with the goal of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s administration of increasing the reach of government-led initiatives.
The new radio program, airing every Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., will feature interviews with DOLE officials and subject-matter experts of its attached agencies who will offer insights into programs, services, policies and current labor issues that affect Filipino workers and employers
Hosted by veteran broadcaster Doris Bigornia and DOLE Assistant Secretary Lennard Constantine C. Serrano, the program will also highlight timely labor news updates and provide a platform for listeners to send in their questions and receive real-time answers from the Department.
The program’s pilot episode featured Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, who provided updates on the Department’s ongoing initiatives and plans to safeguard and advance the welfare of Filipino workers as well as on programs to ensure industrial peace.
“Isa sa mga gusto kong banggitin sa ating mga manggagawa o mga naghahanap ng tulong sa ating pamahalaan, puwedeng dumirekta mismo sa DOLE kasi ngayon mayroon na kaming 17 regional offices na may mga provincial at field office. Lahat ito nakahandang magserbisyo sa kanila at any given time,” Secretary Laguesma said in the interview.
The Secretary also discussed employment and workers’ upskilling and reskilling initiatives of the Department, and the conduct of WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025, the largest showcase of professional and technical skills hosted by the Philippines, graced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., himself.
The interview also touched on the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILP), which covers DOLE’s Kabuhayan program and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD), as well as on the assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises.
Secretary Laguesma also invited the public to continue to tune in to the program.
“Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, malawak po ang naaabot — naipapaabot natin sa kanila ang tama, maaasahan, at mapakikinabangan na impormasyon,” he added.
Aksyon DOLE sa DZMM is an initiative of DOLE, in partnership with the Philippine Collective Media Corporation (PCMC), to further expand the reach of programs and services through effective and timely information dissemination.
