Mainit na tinanggap ng mga kawani at mga opisyales ng Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Iloilo si Collector Noli P. Santua, Jr. bilang bagong District Collector sa ginanap na turn over ceremony nitong Agosto 11, 2025, sa Iloilo Customhouse.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni Collector Santua ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan at pagkakaisa upang makamit ang mga layunin ng ahensya. Ibinahagi rin niya ang mga direktiba ni Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno na tuparin at higitan ang target sa koleksyon, palakasin ang seguridad sa mga Paliparan at Pantalan upang mapigilan ang pagpasok ng mga iligal na kontrabando at paigtingin ang pagpapadali ng kalakalan sa pamamagitan ng digitalisasyon ng mga proseso ng Customs.

Matapos ang seremonya, nakipagpulong si Collector Santua sa mga kinatawan mula sa sektor ng industriya upang talakayin ang mga paraan para mapahusay ang koordinasyon, matugunan ang mga isyu sa kalakalan, at masiguro ang mas maayos na transaksyon sa Customs. Tinipon din niya ang mga kawani ng Port upang magbigay ng gabay at magtakda ng mga prayoridad para sa mga darating na buwan.

Sa pamumuno ni Collector Santua, at sa paggabay nina Commissioner Nepomuceno at Department of Finance Ralph G. Recto, nananatiling nakatuon ang BOC–Port of Iloilo sa pagtupad sa mandato nito — hindi lamang sa paglikom ng buwis kundi pati na rin sa pagbabantay sa mga hangganan ng bansa at pagpapasulong ng lehitimong kalakalan.

Sino nga ba si Collector Noli P. Santua, Jr.?

Nagsimula ang karera ni Collector Santua bilang isang Special Investigator II sa Economic Intelligence and Investigation Bureau noong panahon ni Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada. 

He also served as Deputy Collector for Operation, Port of Batangas; Chief of Operations, Manila Multi-Purpose Terminal, Port of Manila; Chief of Export Division, Port of Manila; OIC, District Collector, Port of Iloilo; Acting District Collector, Port of Surigao; Deputy Collector for Operations, Port of Iloilo,; Sub-Port Collector of Nasipit, Port of Surigao; Port Collector, Kalibo International Airport; OIC Iloilo International Airport, Port of Iloilo; Chief Customs Postal Office, Port of Iloilo; Chief Assessment Division, Port of Iloilo; Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner for Internal Administration Group and outside Custom where he serves as a Development Specialist at the Department of Trade and Industry Region 6. 

He graduated from the Central Philippine University at Jaro, Iloilo where he earned his Doctorate in Management- Public Management (DMPM), Ph.D in Philosophy Major in Psychology at the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos (12 units) Juris Doctor, BS Commerce- Finance, and Master in Public Administration at the Central Philippine University. 

He also attended various trainings and seminars regarding assessment, seaport operations, airport operations, revenue collection, trade facilitation, border protection, intelligence, enforcement and customs laws, rules and regulations, illegal drugs/narcotics interdiction, and environmental protection and among others. 

Collector Santua is also a recipient of various recognitions and commendations for hitting the monthly and annual collection targets and in the enforcement of customs laws, rules and regulations as Acting District Collector in the Port of Iloilo and Port of Surigao. Also, as Acting Deputy Collector for Operations in the Port of Batangas and as Port Collector of the Kalibo International Airport. 

Capable of being a resource person/ speaker in various training and seminars regarding Customs Laws, Rules and Regulations, Diligent, Decisive, Result Driven and a Team Player. 

Bitbit ang kaniyang 30 years in Government Service, masasabi natin na nasa mabuting kamay ang Port of Iloilo kay District Collector Noli Santua.
