NHMFC Strengthens Commitment to Housing Finance for Filipino Families

At the kickoff ceremony of National Shelter Month on Tuesday, October 1, 2025, the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to providing affordable and accessible housing finance for Filipino families. The event, led by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), marked a renewed collective push towards sustainable housing solutions across the country.

With this year’s theme, “Build Homes, Build Happiness,” NHMFC President Renato L. Tobias emphasized that meeting the fundamental need for shelter fosters dignity, security, and happiness among Filipino families.

“At National Home Mortgage, we envision a housing sector filled with opportunities, grounded in the values of fairness, inclusivity, and sustainability,” Tobias said. “Our mission extends beyond building homes or pursuing profitability—it is about creating a lasting impact through environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical governance.”

President Tobias also expressed confidence in DHSUD’s leadership, led by Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling, in advancing the shared vision for the housing sector.

“Together, we remain steadfast in our collective goal: to provide safe, affordable homes, build climate-resilient communities, empower housing originators and real estate developers, and improve the lives of our fellow countrymen,” he added.

In support of the nationwide celebration, NHMFC regional offices also took part in the various Shelter Month activities held across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region. These efforts were spearheaded by Ms. Maristella Rebaya, Chief of the Mindanao Accounts Division, underscoring NHMFC’s strong regional presence and grassroots engagement.
