GCG Launches Leadership Award for Outstanding GOCC Board Members,
Opens Public Feedback on Nominees

In its continued efforts to strengthen corporate governance, the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) has launched a new distinction under its annual GCG Awards — the Leadership Award.

This award aims to recognize exceptional Appointive Members of GOCC Governing Boards who exemplify outstanding leadership, strategic foresight, and a strong commitment to good governance. It celebrates individuals whose exemplary performance and impactful contributions have significantly advanced the development and effectiveness of their GOCCs, benefiting stakeholders and the broader community.

Among the inaugural nominees is Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene C. Acosta, whose nomination cites her visionary leadership, innovative reforms, and dedication to public service. Under her guidance, Pag-IBIG Fund has enhanced its support for the Marcos Administration’s goals of improving the lives of Filipino workers in line with the Bagong Pilipinas vision.

As part of its rigorous vetting process, GCG invites stakeholders and the public to take part in the evaluation of nominees. Feedback on nominees’ performance and impact may be submitted via gcgawards@gcg.gov.ph until 17 October 2025.
