Davao Region workers get livelihood aid, emergency work

A total of 940 individuals in the Davao Region were provided with livelihood and employment support under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) as of August 2025.
In line with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s efforts to continuously uplift the lives of every Filipino worker, the Labor Department continuously strengthens its DILEEP implementation to provide disadvantaged workers with livelihood assistance, under its Integrated Livelihood (DILP) component, and emergency employment, under its Tulong Pangkabuhayan Sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers Program (TUPAD) component.
In Davao, a total of PHP 14,526,690.00 has been allocated to fund these projects across the region.
Under the DILP, 42 beneficiaries have been assisted through the Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) Plus of DOLE, while three workers’ organizations with a total of 200 members received support under the Department’s Workers’ Organization and Development Program (WODP) Plus.
TAV is DOLE’s developmental and proactive strategy to ensure labor standards compliance, while WODP supports union workers and their families by providing training and scholarship opportunities.
The Labor Department also partnered with various government agencies to expand the program and reach more vulnerable workers.
“Our partnerships with other government agencies allow us to extend more meaningful and sustainable support to our beneficiaries. By pooling together our resources and expertise, we are not only providing livelihood assistance but also creating stronger and more resilient communities,” DOLE XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy said, emphasizing the impact of convergence in improving the lives of vulnerable workers.
In collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), a total of 70 exited beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) were assisted with livelihood, while 25 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) benefited through DOLE’s partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
In addition, two individuals received assistance through the Games and Amusement Board (GAB), while three beneficiaries were assisted under the Project Labor, Intervention, Financial, and Economic (LIFE) Assistance Program with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).
Total grants amounting to PHP 9,100,290.00 were awarded for said livelihood projects, including sari-sari stores, rice retailing, livestock raising, and other production ventures.
Meanwhile, under the TUPAD program, 514 beneficiaries of DSWD’s LAWA and BINHI and 84 PDLs under the care of BJMP were provided with cash-for-work amounting to PHP 5,426,400.00 in wages.
For the remainder of the year, DOLE Davao commits to assisting more beneficiaries across the region through convergence programs, in addition to the regular beneficiaries of DILEEP. (DOLE11,CBS)
